Ohio's Workers Compensation Group Rating Program

How can you reduce the premium your organization pays to the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation?

The BWC permits employers with better-than-average claim histories to join together via a sponsoring agency, such as OOGA, for the purpose of being rated as a larger group. By participating in group rating, employers enjoy a much lower premium than could be attained on their own.

Since 1991, OOGA's program has saved employers nearly $30 million on workers' compensation premiums. During this time of change in our economy, your participation in our program via CompManagement is the best way to reduce your workers' compensation premiums while supporting your Association.

BWC Update

The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation has undergone many changes affecting the group rating program you participate in through the Ohio Oil & Gas Association. Focusing on risk management through safety training, group rating participants with claims in the past two years must now complete two hours of safety training. If you have received a letter from either OOGA or CompManagement, Inc. stating that your company had a claim, you will find various classes available on this page to satisfy the training requirement.

If you have completed the training, you will need to report this to CompManagement, Inc. Please follow this link to complete a short questionnaire on the Risk Service website. You will also need to fax the required documentation to 1-866-567-9280.

Should you have any additional BWC questions, please contact Kristy Hawthorne, OOGA, (740) 587-0444, or CompManagement, Inc., (800) 825-6755 or (614) 210-2619.
