Director of Finance
Deneen Welker serves as the Director of Finance of the Ohio Oil & Gas Association (OOGA). She manages all financial operations including financial reporting and preparation of the annual budget for the Association and its subsidiaries as well as the Oil and Gas Producers Underground Protection Service (OGPUPS). Deneen serves as the Human Resources contact for the Association and is responsible for legislative reporting to the Secretary of State’s Office and Joint Legislative Ethics Committee.
Deneen studied Accounting at the Lorain County Community College and has over 20 years of experience working in the financial industry. Prior to working at OOGA, she was a career employee at the Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company culminating in the position of Tax Accountant where she was responsible for tax compliance and reporting for Life & Health Insurance products. In this role, she provided research, drafted position papers and worked with systems to ensure that products were compliant with IRS tax regulations and reported correctly to both policyholders and the Federal Government.
During her time at Nationwide Deneen earned the NASD series 6 and series 26 designations.
Over the years Deneen has volunteered both her time and financial experience to various groups and currently is Treasurer for the Watkins Memorial Choir Boosters.
Deneen resides in Pataskala with her husband Tim and their two daughters, Alyssa and Kiki.
